Einstein's Plain Bagel with Honey Almond Cream Cheese

Overview

Whenever you ask a recommendation from Einstein Bros. Bagels, chances are that someone will tell you to get Honey Almond Cream Cheese for your shmear. To be honest, I was skeptical at first, but I was proved wrong. This bagel was really, really good. The plain bagel was toasted to perfection today and tasted incredible. Of course, the shmear was the true star here. The honey in the cream cheese gave a touch of sweetness, but it wasn't overpowering. It also loosened the texture of the shmear allowing all of the bagel to be equally covered in it's goodness. The almonds also gave a nice texture to the shmear too, and made the plain bagel much more intersting! I would be very much intrigued to try an Everything bagel with this Honey Almond Cream Cheese because it would combine my favorite bagel with my new favorite shmear. It might be too overpowering and complex, but it's worth a shot. However, that's all to say that I really enjoyed this bagel. Definitely try it if you have a chance.

More Thoughts

As I walked to my friends with my bagel to eat with them on a wonderful Thursday mid-morning, I heard someone say "what'd you get this time?" It was my friend, Tyler. I responded that it was a plain bagel with Honey Almond Cream Cheese. "That's my favorite shmear!" he responded. "Yeah," I thought to myself, "but what's gonna beat the classic cream cheese?" I sat down, took a bite, and what went through my mouth and head was a wave of unfathomable joy rivaled only to Remy from Ratatouille after eating those strawberries and cheese. It was phenomenal. I thought it would be too sweet. I was proven wrong. I thought it was the trendy choice that only bagel posers would order. I was proven wrong. There is no shame in having this shmear as your favorite, because now it is mine. The bagel was also superb. And even though it was plain, it complemented the shmear better than I think any other bagel Einstein's offers. In a word, this bagel was simply brilliant. A great way to close out this semester.

But the people want to know! Is this the Greatest Bagel of All Time? Is it good enough to beat out the Everything with plain Cream Cheese? I think so. Ladies and gentlemen, at this point, we have a new official King of All Bagels. Of course, this is still far from over. While this is probably the best bagel at Einstein Bros, there's still tons of bagels out there I haven't tried. This bagel was perfect, but who knows? There might be something even more perfect! And that is why you'll have to keep coming back to Marston's Bagel Blog and checking new bagel reviews!

But as for the Plain with Honey Almond Cream Cheese, I'm feeling a strong 10 on this bagel.
